Churchfield is a sixteen class primary school & nursery in the market town of Highbridge in Somerset.

On 1st April 2013 we transferred to an Academy and now are part of:

Our Mission is to be a school that has children at the heart of all it does.

A school that is Committed to Helping Individuals Learn and Develop, within a supportive, caring environment where we are all respected and valued.

Our vision is to become a highly successful all through primary school, within the Diocese of Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust, which that meets the needs of the community we serve.

A school which children, parents, staff and the community are proud of.

Learn to love…….

Churchfield School is a Christian Community of PRAISE

Perseverance

Respect

Acceptance and friendship

Independence

Selflessness

Empathy and compassion

These values were chosen by the school and wider community as those that are the most important for children to learn. Everything we do at Churchfield promotes these values and helps us to provide a happy, stable environment for children to play, learn and grow into young people who are ready to access their next stage of learning.

Love to learn…….

Learning at Churchfield is engaging, meaningful and fun. Topics are planned half termly with the children, who map out what they already know about a topic and decide on areas that they would like to find out more about.

Across the school we work towards an integrated curriculum that encompasses all areas of learning where links are made between subjects and literacy and numeracy skills. ‘Wow’ moments are planned to inspire children, they go on trips and have visitors. Specialist teaching of Music, Sport and Forest School all form part of what is on offer to every child.

The children share their learning with their parents regularly in performances or open classrooms every half term.

If you feel you would like more information about the school or would like to come and visit us, please do not hesitate to contact us.
